We collect data you provide when registering an account including your name, email address and username. We collect information about your military status if you choose to provide it. We collect listing data including photos, descriptions and pricing. We collect transaction data including purchase history and payment information processed via Stripe. We collect messages sent through our platform. We collect device and usage data including IP address, browser type and pages visited.
We use your data to operate the KitMuster marketplace and process transactions. We use it to verify your identity and prevent fraud. We use it to send transactional emails relating to your orders, listings and account. We use it to improve our platform and user experience. We use it to comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Providing your military status is entirely optional. If you choose to share it, this information is used only to display a verified badge on your profile and to personalise your experience. We treat military status as sensitive personal data and handle it with additional care in accordance with UK GDPR.
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. KitMuster does not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled. We store transaction records including amounts, dates and order references for accounting and dispute resolution purposes.
Messages sent through KitMuster are stored on our servers. All messages are subject to automated content filtering to detect attempts to share personal contact details or conduct off-platform transactions. Flagged messages may be reviewed by our moderation team. We retain message data for up to 2 years.
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect platform functionality. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
We share your data with Stripe for payment processing. We share your data with Supabase who host our database infrastructure. We share your data with Resend for transactional email delivery. We share anonymised referral data with affiliate partners including Altberg, Snugpak, Arktis and Military1st for commission tracking purposes. We may share your data with law enforcement if required by law. We do not share your data with advertisers or marketing companies.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. We retain transaction records for 7 years for accounting purposes. We retain message data for up to 2 years. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time subject to our legal retention obligations.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you. You have the right to correct inaccurate data. You have the right to request deletion of your data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We use industry standard security measures to protect your data including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database hosting via Supabase, and row-level security policies. We regularly review our security practices. In the event of a data breach we will notify affected users and the ICO as required by law.
KitMuster is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has registered on our platform please contact us at kitmusteradmin@gmail.com and we will remove the account.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
